Weekend to build
Founders often underestimate the importance of a competitive moat. They don’t realize that if it takes a weekend to build a product, it’ll also take a weekend for others to copy.
Fortunately, this is not the end all. Differentiation is based on many things, including execution and iteration speed and how quickly founders repeatedly synthesize customers’ needs (vs. wants) into product features.
This, together with a deeply entrenched point of view on the problem set and a unique approach to the solution, can help differentiate a startup in its early innings.
