Beast
I’ve watched countless videos from his Beast Philanthropy channel and have always been amazed by what Mr Beast and his team have done through their charitable projects.
Beast Philanthropy is an excellent example of how nonprofits can also be run. It’s like the millennial version of philanthropy: high impact but also very direct-to-consumer in how it markets and distributes content. This is a pretty significant shift away from how traditional and older nonprofits work. Mr. Beast is unapologetic about how the non-profit conducts its business and operations, as he should.
They rely on advertising revenue from their YouTube videos and donations as contributions. According to their 2022 annual report, the team is lean and uses ~96% of their expenses on programs. I don’t know if other (reputable) non-profits or foundations come close.
I recently started a recurring monthly donation to the foundation. I hope that they’ll be able to expand their reach and inspire more people to get into philanthropy. I also think larger foundations and charities should start allocating capital and resources to entities like this as they’re efficient executors and as a way for the older entities to learn through osmosis.
